Herbert Wachter - Drums
Herbert Wachter is a renowned German drummer and percussionist. He started his professional life in 1982 at the University of Education in Weingarten where he studied for 4 years, and in 1990 became a teacher for percussion at the Youth Music School in Bad Saulgau. He continued his education from 1994 to 1997 at the TAKETINA Instrumental Masterclass by Reinhard Flatischler, followed in 1999 by a course "Percussion in Teaching" at the Federal Academy in Trossingen.
From 2001 to 2006, Herbert Wachter furthered his studies at the Drummers Collective in New York, and in 2008 became a lecturer for Drum-Set at the Music Academy Ravensburg and has held many workshops since.
He has played and still plays with many famous groups such as German Brass, the Martin Schrack Trio, the Uli Gutscher Quartet, the Franziska Bold Band, Erd, Wind & Mayer and in the Artes Studios. Also with top acts like the SWR Big Band, Paul Kuhn, Max Greger jr., Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Philharmonia Graubünden, Don Menza, Paquito d'Rivera, Sandy Petton and Benny Bailey. As percussionist and drummer, he has participated in the musical "Miss Saigon" and played at the theatre in Ulm as well as in many TV, radio and CD productions, some of the latter winning a "CD of the Year" award.
